Store First Storage Pods Claims

When you think of unusual or exotic investments, you might think of wine cases or Caribbean property. Self-storage units in industrial estates around the UK, however, probably don’t factor in your thinking.

For several years, however, companies and financial advisors have talked investors, usually retirees, into putting their money into storage units. Those investors have lost almost everything.

Self-Storage Promises that Failed to Materialise

There were several companies offering self-storage unit investments in the UK between 2011 and 2017. This included Store First. It was one of the highest profile as its advertising and marketing materials we fronted by television presenter Quentin Wilson. He used to present Top Gear.

Financial advisors convinced investors in Store First and similar schemes to purchase long-term leases for individual self-storage units – or pods. The investor would then sublet the unit via a management company.

Some people sank their entire retirement pots into the investment. In all, it is thought more than £120 million was invested by at least 1,000 people.

Those people were promised significant returns from their investment. In marketing materials for some of the firms, the promise was you would double your money within six years.

Instead of making a return, however, investors lost their money.

Were you one of the people who bought an investment in a self-storage unit from Store First as part of your pension planning? You may have been mis-sold the investment which means you might have a claim to get your money back. Please call us today on 0808 163 1659 to speak to a member of our team.
